The Official Website Registrar Report

Registrar's Report

The total membership for this year, reached 185 which is a decrease of 13 from last year.  We lost 29 members from last year’s total and gained only 17 new members.    We can expect around a 15% attrition rate each year and so it is the duty of each State qAssociation to attract new members to replace these losses.  I must commend South Australia and Victoria for having events that are designed to display the Hartley boat and the benefits of membership to the public.  New South Wales Association gained the most new members but this is probably due to the Australian and State Titles being conducted in the same sailing season.   It is hard to estimate the effect of social media i.e. the Facebook page, looking at the statistics we are reaching hundreds of people which aren’t necessarily members.
A survey was conducted to gain information from members on what might attract people to the Association and it was clear that there was no easy solution but a coordinated approach of racing and cruising should still be promoted amongst all States. The following charts provide information as to the membership breakups and patterns.
